Resin8 pioneered an epoxy construction that brought amazing durability together with a flex that creates a responsive, performance ride.
Working with world-class shapers like Sam Egan and Wade Tokoro, the brand won praise from elite surfers including Mick Fanning, Jamie O'Brien and Flynn Novak to name just a few. Resin8's evolution was praised by the best surfers in the world and is regarded as one of the most forwarded thinking brands of all time.
Resin8 surfboards set new industry standards in surfboard construction. Testing and utilizing the highest quality materials and a precise measuring system, Resin8 were able to very accurately create proven shapes from this elite group of world class craftsmen with an unparalleled balance of performance, speed, optimal flex, strength and durability.
Resin8 surfboards are hand shaped, hand glassed, hand sanded, and hand finished by a dedicated crew of 16 craftsmen, all of whom had been with the project since it started in 2002. Resin8's unique construction process maximizes impact and tensile strength, while minimizing and accurately controlling final weight, and retaining a high tech flex previously unheard of in this type of durable modern construction.
From humble beginnings in 2002 in Bude, Cornwall, England, Resin8 pursued a dream of building the world's best high performance surfboards. 5 years of R & D followed and the rest is history.
Since then Resin8 worked on the acclaimed "Scoop" model, an exciting product designed by Andy Seidensticker who has worked with the company for many years and played a major part in making the original Resin8 product so good. Andy now continues to develop and produce this design at his home in Costa Rica and continues to evolve the shapes and board construction techniques of the future.
2012 saw Resin8 launch a range of high performance short boards manufactured with the best quality materials using traditional build methods. State of the art shaping software was introduced and working closely with top UK shaper Carl Welton on design, Resin8 began on a new journey. Carl began developing proven shapes for friend, Bude local and top European surfer Reubyn Ash, the UK's most exciting surfer.
The Resin8 brand is currently in creative retreat whilst we continue to develop new technologies and shapes that may well be the future of modern surfing. Watch this space.
